The Daily's online comment moderator has made some interesting choices this year.

Generalizing the actions of a few Muslim extremists to the entire religion of Islam is comparable to saying that the Westboro Baptist Church represents the thoughts and initiatives of most Christians-- it just simply isn't true.

Seeing these comments online makes my heart break for the Muslim students at OU. I would hate to exist in an environment where fellow students think such vile, ridiculous thoughts about my religion.

I would really like for a Muslim group on campus to respond to this article and the comments above.

I think it should be noted that though the HSC is different from the OU-Norman campus, it does not differ in a negative way. The HSC is primarily made up of graduate students that are dedicated to their studies, so activities there are not catered to the same groups of students. However, there are many ways to get involved on the HSC campus that are very rewarding. As an undergraduate, I have immensely enjoyed my time there.

True, there are some inconvenient situations where communications could be improved between the two campuses. Unfortunately, the spirit of this article is rather discouraging, and I would definitely advise OU-Norman students interested in health professions to embrace the outstanding academic opportunities provided by the OUHSC.

Thanks,
Andrea Fowler

I pose two questions to those on the pro-life side of the fence:

1. If abortions were to become illegal, what would be the punishment for those mothers who violated the law?

2. If women were not allowed to have abortions, would you be willing to financially support single mothers unhappily raising children that they cannot provide for?

The story about the homeless woman sneaking into the stadium basement is hilarious to me. Way to go, Oklahoma.

....Did this article actually say anything?

I'm sure the Honors College faculty would have complied if they actually knew any sort of information.

As revealed by the last article, Dean Davis really knew very little about the details of the donation since a separate department handles all of that-- thus, I don't know why The Daily would expect faculty members to know anything about the donation either.

Thank you for a good follow-up about this story!

I find it very interesting that the SDS President resigned..

In all actuality the Honors College knows very little about the donation process--in fact they know just as much as every other college does that receives a donation. Any donations to the university are handled through a separate office, so it's very likely that the Honors College and Dean Davis truly don't know anything about the donation, as this information is not disclosed to the colleges.

I can understand that people might not like the McClendon name put on the college because of Aubrey McClendon's political views; however, I think it's absolutely ridiculous to posit that Aubrey McClendon would have anything to do with the faculty selection process. I'm pretty sure he has more important things to do with his life than hand select faculty members for the Honors College--which he has actually has no power to do anyway.
