I think the blanket usage of the term terrorist needs to be eliminated. Hamas does not equal the Taliban and neither is the same as Al Qaeda. It is RACIST to assume that these organizations with very different goals and methods are related because there organizations are comprised of militant Muslims. The flimsy connections between these groups sound like good old American conspiracy theories driven by nativist xenophobia. Remember the PLO used to be a "terrorist" organization and now they are recognized as a legitimate party. Is any armed Muslim a terrorist? Don't they have the right to defend and protect their own communities (as in Palestine)?
