I remember when I was a sophomore and knew everything.

"The idea of "predetermined rejection" as you seem to portray it, seems more like defaulting to an outlook of the world where animals don't just reanimate or, in most peoples' parlance - reality."
@Pinchfist
Trevor's argument here is that most peoples' view of "reality" consists of little more than predetermined rejection which is an exercise in intellectual laziness.
He's asking people to be less like the intellectually lazy world they live in so, as a result, the world might change for the better.
How was that not clear?

They took away the Cinnabon at the start of this school year because they didn't have enough business. I think Sooners have apparently been making healthy choices without your help for a while now.

I agree. It was not great. And I had such high hopes for it. Also, the whole metaphor within a metaphor thing got old really fast.

We are wasting our time having strong opinions about this. This whole argument is completely irrelevant.
Why are we pretending that there is a vast underground gay military presence? There's obviously not.
Even if you take the highest, most skewed numbers regarding homosexuality in America and say that practicing homosexuals are 10% of the population, and then transfer that into the military without allowing for the fact that military personnel are not representative of the US population as a whole (thus: military=10% gay), this still wouldn't be something the average American gives a crap about.
I, for one, don't care if those in the military "feel comfortable with who they 'really' are." Military service is not about comfort. Protect the country. Kill bad guys.
While you're in the military, you are not an individual. The "Army of One" means that you are a single, solitary fighting unit. I hesitate to use the example of a hive mind, but you get the idea.
Whether it's gay sex, cooking, painting, stamp collecting... whatever. While you are a member of the United States Military, that is not what defines you.
If the status quo remains... it's irrelevant. If not... equally irrelevant. It's all political posturing and mental masturbation. Let's find something else to work ourselves into a tizzy about, please.

You made the assumption that all Christians share your sophomoric view of God. We are at an impasse.
