so what happens if i enter a business w/o the above-mentioned decal? do i get pelted, stoned, mistreated, and slapped around? why do i need a decal signifying a welcome? how about i frequent a business/service because it appreciates my money, fellowship, and nice demeanor??? if i dislike a business/service, i'll ignore it.

how did we come to this point in our society??? a decal suggesting a welcoming atmosphere? how about advertising (print, web, word-of-mouth, tv, etc.), selling a good product/service at a fair price, and friendly employees???

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of
a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,
shall not be infringed. Source: http://ratify.constitutioncenter.org/...

Second Amendment has been bastardized over history. Presently, how many gun owners are members of "a well regulated militia"?? When did "a well regulated militia" become every "Tom, Dick, and Harry" wanting to have a gun? Why not bastardize the Second Amendment even more?

I'm a non-gun person. My plan with open carry? If I ever see a civilian openly carrying a gun and I don't see a badge (suggesting a plainclothes law enforcement person) on the gun carrier's belt near the holstered gun, I'm getting out of the situation. I don't know if the gun carrier is a 'good' or 'bad' guy. I don't want to wait around and find out 'good or 'bad.'

Congratulations, Ricky.

H&F's negative attitude is preparation for life after college. Service-oriented businesses narrowly pay attention to the bottom line and less at the big picture of how they got to the bottom line: consumers.

sing it, brother!!! can i get an amen??

when did we forget about 'innocent until proven guilty'? kind reader, step in zimmerman's shoes (any accused's shoes) and you would want the application of 'innocent until proven guilty'. correct?

it's easy to deem guilt w/o a trial in a court of law (rather than public opinion and the media)when you are out of zimmerman's shoes, isn't it??

it's sad when a samaritan ignores. it's also sad when a samaritan assists and the assisted party sues the samaritan for the assistance. during a life-saving, cursory harm (i.e. an accidentally broken rib in a case of administered c.p.r.) does occasionally occur. samaritans are reluctant to assist because we have a litigious society................ we'd think the assisted party would be grateful for life.

read and thought about byas's words yesterday (April 18) but did not immediately comment and then read jlemke's comment of April 19's morning. re-read byas's words to confirm what i was thinking yesterday.

my thoughts of yesterday are similar to jlemke's comments of today. byas jumps around a lot. maybe it's just because i have a BA from O.U. but i could not figure out byas's point.

a trend over the last 30-40 years (maybe longer? i'm in my mid-40s), i've noticed: why do we judge zimmerman (and others) guilty until proven innocent? aren't the facts supposed to be laid out in a trial? i think there's something in the U.S. Constitution about this. is there something about 'guilty until proven innocent by the media, talking heads, pundits, etc.' in the U.S. Constitution that i missed in my jr. high civics class? hopefully i am never in an accused's shoes, but if i am, i want to be deemed 'innocent until proven guilty' and judged in a trial.

if we want stricter gun laws, we need stricter laws on anything else that can be a weapon. baseball bats, knives, tire irons, golf clubs, shoes, motor vehicles, rope, ice-picks, etc. the letter writer is correct. the person wielding the weapon is at fault. the weapon is an inanimate object not harming anybody. blame the wielder......................

"These are jails we’re talking about, not prisons. The people in these facilities have not been convicted of a crime and have not yet had their day in court."

if i ever happen to be a person in a jail lacking a conviction of crime, i want to be in a safe place. i'm doing my darnest to get out of the jail in one piece and prove my innocence in my day of court.....................

check everybody for everything. check the person in line in front of and in back of me. check me.

it is about respect. respect one another's life-choices. i am unreligious and i am acquainted with several religious people in my life. they respect my choice to be unreligious and i respect their choices to be religious.
