Achilles, I am a little confused by your logic. You state that renting makes no sense, yet your own comments contradict that.

Let's say that a book lists for $100. If you rent the book for approximately 40% of the list price, you are paying $40 and saving $60. If you purchase the book for $100 and sell it back at the end of the semester for $50 (half of the list), you recover that $50. Last time I looked, saving $60 is better than saving $50. And you do run the risk at the end of the semester that a purchased book will not be bought back.

I might suggest that students check out Chegg (http://www.chegg.com), a company that RENTS textbooks. So far, I have been very impressed with their rates. I am curious if others have had experiences with them or other textbook rental sites.

David Boren has done an amazing job of transforming the University of Oklahoma. He is worth every penny that he is being paid.

Might as well have one of the freaking Osmonds for the halftime show.

This is an obvious attempt by a largely irrelevant group of students to get some notoriety at the expense of an individual who has given generously to the university.

I didn't know that the Students for a Democratic Society still existed; nor did I care all that much anyway.
