Why is this writer always the most pessimistic person when writing about Oklahoma football.
The OU daily has a history of hating on Oklahoma football (which is weird because they write for a university that's one of the top powerhouses in college football), but i don't think i've yet to see an author like this who does nothing but take any chance he can to dog on the team.
Stop being such a negative nancy all the time. Every journalist has a niche to fill, do you really want to be known as the one who always hates on our home team?

Its not like that by changing the ending of the song, the terrorists win. I understand the importance of the star spangled banner, but people need to lighten up. Not only that, I think the Air Force players are more worried about hanging in with OU at Owen Field for four quarters than whether or not we recite, verbatim, the star spangled banner.
This debate comes up every year by people who I question have ever been to a sporting event before. Almost every college across the United States does the exact same thing at the end of the Star spangled banner. Yet in good ol' Oklahoma, we have a few people that take offense. Yelling your team's name at the end of the song is nothing new, and it's nothing to lose sleep over. At the end of the day, people are just as patriotic regardless of whether they whistle through the star spangled banner, word for word.

Maps single handedly transformed downtown OKC from trashy to something with class and worth visiting no matter where you're from. Unfortunately we live in the age of mindless teabaggers who reject all logic just so they can dress up and demonstrate their craziness and irrational anger towards taxes; regardless of any logic behind these taxes. It's the capitalist version of a hippy, but instead of researching what they protest, they spend they're time making signs instead.
I remember one sign said "get your government hand out of my social security"... these are the type of people that will stop the bill from being passed. Sorry, this issue has bothered me lately.

"my eardrums were bleeding."

Poor baby. Might I suggest Cricket instead. Or, how about just staying home and cuddling up next to the final Twilight book.

"What does not belong on campus are corporate sponsors like Nike"

With that argument we might as well shut down half the University. This ENTIRE campus runs partly on corporate sponsors. Why do you think they call it PRICE hall, or GAYLORD hall? Why do you think companies like ConocoPhillips, Chesapeake and others are so prevalent?

I'm sorry sir, but your philosophy is flawed.

p.s. using "fois-gras" does not add validity to your argument.

Let's look at last year's home games: Cincinnati, TCU, Kansas, Texas Tech, and Nebraska

Maybe OU students would stay if they got what they were paying for. I wouldn't pay $10 to watch OU play Idaho State, Tulsa, or Baylor. I don't even think Idaho State would pay $10 to watch Idaho State play OU, nor would anybody in their right mind. Also, when was the last time Baylor or Tulsa beat OU?

Texas A&M and KState were the only two games worth going to, but even those were tailgate games. The only good game this year that seems to be worth spending money on is OSU, but even that is destined for bad attendance because it's scheduled on Thanksgiving Break when the campus is a ghost town.

This season's home games were a joke; however, I am very optimistic because next year is going to be SO much better.

So so true. UOSA is such a great program... on paper.
In reality, it's a tool for students to use on their resumes. That's it. Some go into it with the right mind and zeal, but as a whole its just a glamour title.
I remember attending a student congress meeting for a class my sophomore year. It consisted of funding student organizations and all you can eat pizza. The most controversial issue raised was parking... I'll let you guess how far they got on that...
