"challenge people to be consistent in their thinking on this issue"

You mean consistently in *your* point of view on the issue? Ridiculous. All of it.

In what is possibly OU's biggest scam of all time, you now have to pay $200 to park in *most* (read: virtually all) of the areas at Lloyd Noble Center. That's right, OU's once touted "solution" to the parking problem on campus is now just another excuse to extort money from its student body. All the people that parked at Lloyd Noble to ride the free shuttle service can not POSSIBLY fit into the four little squares allotted for them. You will be ticketed if you park anywhere outside that area and don't have a permit - even if you take the "free" shuttle.

All this, after the closing of most of the Jenkins/Huff parking lot? After all the behind schedule construction? If Holland really did say "OU Parking Services wants to make sure everyone now pays for parking", it's incredibly insensitive. Does anyone in the parking office realize what a pain in the a** it is to actually park at LN and ride the shuttle? You want people to pay $200 for that privilege? The same amount of money it costs to park close to campus buildings? (oh, sorry - I forgot we don't have those spots either).

@OUParking DID tweet about the change on August 20. At least all 198 followers knew about it 4 days before school started...

There is no other logical reason for someone to park at Lloyd Noble EXCEPT to ride the shuttle. They've stuck in a few "free" lots to give some sort of horrible illusion that they are still trying to cater to people, but there is NO other reason for people to park down there. It's all kinds of messed up.

“ 'If students would not drive around those and go directly to a lot where they know is open — for example, the Duck Pond lot — I think it would be much more convenient,' Glenn said"

Who exactly is this convenient for?

I came here to write the EXACT same thing as sjohnson. I won't repeat it; however, if this is opinion of the OU Daily, my opinion of your staff has taken a huge blow.

There are no gods. The sooner everyone realizes that, the better.
