Norman businesses ought to be ashamed of themselves, or of their peers, whichever be the case. The Norman Chamber of Commerce and their brood ramble to infinity about their business prowess. The fact is, most business is location, location, location. Norman straddles a transcontinental interstate, and has tens of thousands of students with Mommy and Daddy's plastic, and or student loans/grants and multiple jobs. Campus Corner has it "Made in the Shade Lemonade 24/7 365". The Red Carpet (and brick) has been rolled out for them by Norman's citizens in the form of a Tax Increment Finance district, where they didn't have to hand over their fair share of sales tax like others did. They squandered their pledge of promoting local business and of late have bent over for large, out-of-state chains that do little but drain money out of our local economy. Now they are bellyaching that capitalism exists and they have to compete with street vendors who may offer cheaper, more convenient, and more "fun" products and services. On game days, people want to be outside, they don't want to be cramped, drunk, in tiny shops with lots of knick-knacks to knock over and have to pay for. Big Deal. Allen, Fite & Co. don't own the streets of Norman. They don't own the right to everyone's money who passes in front of their overpriced shops. Nothing is stopping them from letting "valued" employees register and pay to be street vendors, like everyone else, and make a profit. Of course, that's a Horse of a Different Color and a mighty high one to have to fall off. Let them come forward publicly with their backdoor list of 25 snooty businesses who are against the free market, and handed to the Mayor and City Council, but not proffered for public scrutiny. It's shameful, it's embarrassing, it's not good business. I say give to the Needy, and not the Greedy. There is more than enough "action" going on on gamedays. May Campus Corner never boondoggle the city and it's residents for special treatment again. Yes, they claim, the millions we let them keep "worked". Well, hell, lets give the street vendors millions of our taxpayer money, and see if they don't make something of it. Grow up!

If SarahFallinMaryPalin could somehow be properly socialized, we wouldn't need to be attacking each other over health care....

Lordy, Mary Fallin botched her gubernatorial oath of office, so that's like getting anchovies on your pizza when you shouldn't even be eating Itialian.... BEVO Burgers Forever!

Xtina's faux pas pales next to Mary's ****-eating grin as she promised to "Offend the Constitution" (while lifting her hand FROM the Bible) Psychoanalyze that! Mary is so busy crafting luxury suites for business owners that she's constitutionally incapable of focusing on the folks of Oklahoma. Corruption has a stiff upper lip, and her name is Fallin.

Since they're not having to work and all, you'd think Vicky and CART could update their webpage and answering systems accordingly. Come on, "Spokewoman"....Hello! This is particularly vapid, as when they are snowed under, yet operating, the answering service is exactly the same.... "(after (FIVE!) laborious rings "I'm sorry all ports are busy now (really? busy? as in driving buses busy? or as insipping hot cocoa at home busy? do clarify spokewoman) TWO more rings "Welcome to OCTEL Voice Information Processing, please dial the number of the person you are calling (hello? dispatch? oupd?), if you have a mailbox in this system, please press blah blah-dy blah blah... have a nice day. Just kidding, I threw in that "have a nice day" just to be southern and polite...

Bubb-brrr!

Dear Mary,
A Governor's job is to govern, as in government. It's not to be a shill for business. Businesses and Corporations didn't elect you, people did. Oklahoma means "Red Man's Land" not "Land of the Business Owners." We care less about your religion than your ability to represent all Oklahomans. We're not impressed with how you are in awe of Sarah Palin. Please don't lead this state into a quagmire of crime, drug abuse, gambling, domestic violence- all of which go up when the poor are neglected. Please don't ratchet up the partisanship, further than you already have. It's not businesses' job to look out for the marginalized, and they won't, it's yours. Please don't "Focus on the Family", even though you're a big fan of the hate group. Focus on the Folks of Oklahoma. Before you eviscerate services across the state, think of the salt of the earth people in those positions, and the people they serve. We know your philosophy is "Now is the time for the rich to get richer". It's never too late to re-educate yourself.

Bubba (but not the kind of Bubba you typically hang out with)
