How about good old sleep, healthy eating, and exercising? Take a break when your brain gets foggy and walk around the library. These aren't the most easy, convenient fixes all the time but they are what's usually really needed.... Now if only it were as easy to make into habit as it is to say it....

I agree with LaughLax, 20 minutes is a little long for 2 police cars to show up to a fire alarm, I would not call that quick by any means. Thank goodness it wasn't a big fire, or those 25 minutes before the fire trucks came could have done a lot of damage.

While growing up I lived in the old Parkview Apartments for a while and I can agree with Flippo, it was a great experience! The community of international students and families was such a neat environment to be raised in.

For dio,
This is going to SOUND unbelievable and possibly hypocritical, but I do not believe that what I said contradicts with the verses you responded to me with.
However, I am unsure whether or not you really want to hear an explanation of the theology of why I (and other Christians) don't think they're mutually exclusive. If you do I'd be more than happy to tell you and discuss it. Just let me know....

I just have to say for the record that 2 Corinthians 2:16 is NOT referring to generally shunning people of different beliefs. Instead, when taken in context of the chapter and the rest of the Bible, it is saying that Christians are to not get so caught up with them in relationships that they then become LIKE a non-Christian in actions and attitudes. In the Bible Jesus himself was seen as a "friend of... sinners" (Matthew 11:19). Jesus chose to eat dinner with the thieves and prostitutes instead of with the so-called "religious" leaders. Jesus was loving them, he cared for them. Ephesians 5:2 says to "live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us." We cannot love others if we do not associate with them.
So an apology and a change of heart is called for from the Christians to those whom we have judged. We have been forgiven much and so are being transformed throughout our lives to be more and more like Christ, learning to love and forgive like He did (2 Corinthians 3:18). I hope and pray that all of us, as finite messed up humans stuck in this world, can reach out to love each other.

Rhology, saying what you did makes others think that you don't love them, even if you really do care. Please show love and let them understand real love, only then will they not think it is condemnation from hate.

I am a Christian and I believe in evolution. First of all, there are many different types of evolution. There is the natural selection process, the evolution of humans, and others. We see natural selection through the sciences, and some claim to see human evolution as well. The fight over human evolution is bitterly disputed, but I believe that either is possible.
First of all, Darwin himself said in the Origin of Species that the evolution of humans is very unlikely. He didn’t mean for his proposal of evolution to apply to humans.
Secondly, I believe that God could work through evolution or outside of it. In other words, who are we to say that God could not have made us through evolution? In my own opinion I do not think that quite adds up to His character, but that is only my opinion and not a factual knowledge. On the other hand, He may have decided to create humans from nothing, if one is to take Genesis literally. There are many facts that just don’t add up to human evolution, and this is why I do not accept it off-handedly. I do not reject it because of my beliefs, just because of the facts.
In the same way, I wish scientists would not try to plant evidence to prove human evolution as if that were an attack against a Creator. So what if the Creator chose to use evolution? Why couldn’t He? There are many possibilities of what God could have done to make the world, and I believe that science should point to the way He made it on it's own without us interfering to shape the facts. Therefore, if science shows that the earth is millions of years old, why should our English translation of the Bible disprove that alone? The word “day” in Genesis can also imply an “epoch” or “age”, not just a 24 hour day. This view is hotly disputed, and I respect those who believe otherwise, but we should not dictate to science and God how He created the world. We should be seeking the truth, and the truth will tell us answers. We should not look for evidence to back up our view, but look for truth and see where that leads us.

Yes, women are allowed the choice of what to do with their body - they have the choice to have sex. We give them the choice to take the risk of having a baby in the first place, but they have to be willing to deal with the consequences, without finding a convenient way out at the expense of a baby's life. It is not a matter of the mother's freedom of choice because the question does not just affect her, it affects a whole other human being's life! It is not one person's freedom of choice or jurisdiction to dictate whether an innocent baby should be killed and not given the chance to live. The unborn should not be abandoned just because of the decision of their mother. There are many others who would love to take good care of the baby, why not give it a chance and let the mother reap the rewards of saving, instead of killing, a life? And on the side of the law, why would cutting short a person's life be okay and it not be okay for a wine producer to sell directly to a store? We laugh at the chasm of difference between the two, so why? If you ask me, life is much more important.
