I love the letters sections of the publications I read. I don’t feel like my consumption of the stories within the publication is complete until I know whether someone thought information was incorrect, misleading or missing important perspectives. READ MORE

This week, I’m exploring a statement made in an Oct. 7 letter to the editor by political science sophomore Travis Ruddle. Ruddle wrote that he felt an Oct. 6 opinion column by Matt Bruenig on the fundraising event Shack-A-Thon shouldn’t have run. READ MORE

My favorite misconception about The Daily is that it has many levels of oversight. It’s mainly my favorite because it allows me to conjure up the following scene in my mind: It’s a chilly autumn night. OU President David Boren is tucked under piles of quilts in a bed next to a roaring fire. Boren is wearing a long stocking cap — the kind with the fuzzy ball on the end — and old-fashioned spectacles. In his hands is a preview copy of The Daily’s next issue. READ MORE
