Sandra Kunzweiler hasn’t always known that she wanted to get a degree in broadcast journalism, but it’s clear that this University College freshman will feel very comfortable in front of the camera.
Kunzweiler prides herself on being open to trying new things – she said she’s in love with anything that makes her want to laugh or cry, that gives her the chills or forces her to stop and think. It’s clear that she has a zest for life and finds joy in meeting and working with new people.
She originally planned to be a lawyer like her father, Steve Kunzweiler, but turned to journalism after an internship at KTUL News Channel 8. She views her experience there as a turning point that caused her to broaden her horizons.
Sandra also brings journalistic experience from her editorial position on her high school yearbook at Cascia Hall Preparatory School in Tulsa as well as what she learned in fall 2008 as part of the crew of the OU Nightly newscast.
Sandra aspires to become a news anchor in a local market because she enjoys reporting news that she calls “more personal and community-based.” She lives by the philosophy that life for her is like journalism – she gets the opportunity to learn something new every day.
