Ashley Body is a 19 year old journalism sophomore from Mansfield, TX. In the past, Ashley wrote for her high school paper, as well as for her hometown paper, the Mansfield News-Mirror. She is interested in journalism because of how media can significantly impact the world, as well as the ability for journalism to make a difference. Ashley chose to attend the University of Oklahoma based specifically on the quality of its journalism program.
Ashley is very close with her family. Her father, Randy, works as a public relations manager for Northrop Grumman, a global security company, and her mother, Kelly, works as a substitute teacher. She also has a 12 year old sister.
In her spare time, Ashley enjoys to read and play golf. Additionally, she has been a counselor at a Christian day camp every summer for the past three years and plans to continue to do so in the future. She hopes to someday do missionary work in Africa.
