Head coach Lon Kruger talks to the sooners during the game against Texas Tech on Feb. 9.

Not even an hour after a report Sunday night claimed Oklahoma men's basketball coach Lon Kruger was interviewed for the UCLA head coaching job, the subject of the rumor was quick to deny it.

"I have not interviewed for the job at UCLA, nor have I had any contact with anyone from UCLA,” Kruger said in an OU press release Sunday night.

In response to the buzz, the eight-year Oklahoma coach went ahead and said in a report from The Oklahoman that he plans on finishing his coaching career at Oklahoma.

Kruger led the Sooners to the second round of the NCAA Tournament this season after a win over Ole Miss in the first round. The Sooners finished the season 20-14.

Kruger's career with the Sooners includes a Final Four appearance in the 2015-16 season.
