Cue the waterworks.
ESPN asked Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield to write a letter to his mom, Gina Mayfield, ahead of Mother's Day and read it aloud on camera. What the former Oklahoma star didn't know was that his mom was listening in a room next door.
Mayfield wrote about his gratitude for his mom and highlights memorable moments he's had with his mom through his younger years up until where he is now.
"There's no handbook on parenting," Mayfield said. "But if there was, you'd be the author."
In the next room and in tears, Gina walks into the room Mayfield is in and embraces him.
