Jones, who was drafted by the Pittsburg Steelers in the 2013 NFL Draft, threw for 16,646 passing yards and 123 touchdowns in his four years with the Sooners — from 2009 to 2012. His last destination was on the Oakland Raiders as a practice squad member.
Former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops — who coached Jones — took the job as XFL Dallas' head coach and general manager back in February.
