Former Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is in the process of signing with the Carolina Panthers, per NFL's Ian Rapoport.

McCoy was released back in May from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he spent the last nine seasons, where he tallied 54.5 career NFL sacks. He was the No. 3 pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
McCoy played DT for the Sooners from 2006-09, where he racked up 14.5 career sacks.
In the past year, McCoy was a nominee for the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for his various involvements in helping the community.
