Williamson just finished a season as an assistant for Miami's basketball program, and he will fill a vacancy made by the departure of now-Arkansas assistant coach Chris Crutchfield.
"We're excited to welcome Coach Williamson and his family," Kruger said in a press release. "Throughout his career, Pooh has built his reputation as a good teacher of the game, strong recruiter and respected mentor. He has lived, played and coached in Oklahoma and will be a fantastic fit to our staff and family."
Williamson's assistant coaching career spans 23 years, and he has coached programs such as TCU, SMU and Wichita State. Williamson was an interim head coach for Tulsa — his alma mater and where he played college ball — where he finished with a 7-15 record at the helm.
