Senior Paige Lowary pitches April 11.

Oklahoma senior left-handed pitcher Paige Lowary was drafted with the No. 1 overall pick in the National Pro Fastpitch League by the Chicago Bandits on Monday night.

Lowary became the second Sooner to be taken first overall since Lauren Chamberlin in 2015. Lowary was named to the WCWS All-Tournament team and All-Big 12 First Team honoree in 2017. As a junior, Lowary started in 16-of-48 appearances and holds the Oklahoma record in saves with 11. In her senior season, she has a 0.76 ERA through 55 innings pitched.

Since transferring to Oklahoma as a junior, Lowary has developed a strong role as a closer for the Sooners. Learn more about Lowary and why she wears a face mask when in the pitching circle here.
