Cornerback Michiah Quick is no longer a member of the Oklahoma football team due to a violation of team rules, coach Bob Stoops announced Monday.

Quick, a junior from Fresno, California, started his career as a receiver but moved to defensive back before the 2016 season. He worked his way into the starting lineup earlier this year but was injured against Texas on a controversial play.

Quick is the latest in a string of Sooners player to leave the team during the year. Defensive lineman Matt Dimon was removed for the team for a violation of team rules, and defensive lineman Charles Walker left the team to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Quick had three pass breakups before his injury and has been replaced in the starting lineup by freshman Jordan Parker.
