Two construction projects in Norman will affect traffic this week, beginning early Monday morning and lasting until the weekend.
According to a City of Norman press release, all lanes of 24th Avenue Northeast between Alex Plaza Drive and Newman Street will be closed as of 8 a.m. Monday while an ongoing waterline improvement project continues.
A detour using 12th Avenue Northeast, Robinson Street and Alameda Street will be available. Lane closures are expected to end at 12 p.m. June 15, according to the release.
According to another press release from the city, the intersection of Boyd Street and Berry Road will be a four-way stop with stop signs as of 9 a.m. Tuesday, while crews work to replace the traffic signal controller cabinet. This is expected to last until 12 p.m. Tuesday, according to the press release.
In both releases, the City of Norman recommended drivers plan for extra travel time or use an alternate route while the closures are in effect.
