Man dies following train collision between Brooks and Boyd streets

A person has died after a collision with a train between Brooks and Boyd streets at 9 a.m. on May 2, according to the Norman Police Department.

In a statement from Public Information Officer Sarah Jensen, the Norman PD said police responded to a report of a collision and found the individual dead from injuries sustained from the collision.

The Amtrak train was heading southbound on the tracks between Brooks and Boyd street. The police closed the railroad crossing for one hour to investigate. 

Jensen said the collision is still under investigation.
