"Beauty and the Beast" will be shown for free Saturday, May 19, 2012, in the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art's Mary Eddy and Fred Jones Auditorium.

Even though the spring semester is over, students can still enjoy free movie screening on campus this summer.

The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art will show three movies in May and June: “Beauty and the Beast,” “Walt & El Grupo” and “The Lion King.”

The movies are being screened in conjunction with the museum's "A Century of Magic: The Animation of The Walk Disney Studios" exhibit, which is on display until Sept. 2, said Michael Bendure, the museum's director of communication.

“Beauty and the Beast,” the first of the three movies, will play at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Mary Eddy and Fred Jones Auditorium.

“Walt and the Group,” a documentary that peeks into the golden age of Disney animation and offers a glimpse into one of Disney’s most challenging parts of his life, will be shown at 6 p.m. May 25 in the Mary Eddy and Fred Jones Auditorium.

The final movie, “The Lion King,” will be shown at 10:30 a.m. June 9 in the Sandy Bell Gallery.

Admission is free for students with a valid OU ID.

The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, 555 Elm Ave., is in the OU Arts District. Admission is free on Tuesdays. For more information, call 405-325-4272 or visit www.ou.edu/fjjma.
