Starting Monday, students will need a 2012 summer permit to park on campus through Aug. 15, a parking official said.
The permits, which cost $27, allow people to park in university lots all day and in faculty lots after 4 p.m., said Vicky Holland, OU Parking and Transportation spokeswoman. The parking rules in the summer are slightly different than other semesters, she said.
“The biggest difference between summer parking compared to parking during the academic year is that all parking in housing is open to students with a summer parking pass,” Holland said.
Another change is the Oklahoma Memorial Union parking garage is closed. In addition, the North Oval is reserved, so people aren’t allowed to park there unless they have a special permit, she said.
All students can park at Lloyd Noble Center for free and ride the shuttle to campus.
Parking permits for the 2012-2013 academic year are available for $195 and are valid from Aug. 15 to May 2013, according to the OU Parking and Transportation website.
Parking permits can be purchased online or in person at Robertson Hall, Room 311.
