Students can observe the stars at weekly Star Parties beginning Wednesday.
The OU Department of Physics and Astronomy will host the star parties on the roof of the Observatory and Landscape Department on Asp Avenue through May 2, physics and astronomy professor Mukremin Kilic said in an email. Events will be held every Wednesday, excluding the week of spring break.
Participants will view Jupiter, Venus, the moon, bright nebula, star clusters and nearby galaxies through the high-powered telescope, Kilic said. The event is open to the public.
