NCAA football: OU ranked fourth in preseason coaches poll
OU is ranked No. 4 in the USA Today preseason poll released Thursday morning. SEC favorites LSU and Alabama are ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
The Big 12 Conference has six teams ranked, including newcomers West Virginia (No. 11) and TCU (No. 17).
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish — who the Sooners will face Oct. 27 in Norman — is ranked No. 24.
The USA Today poll rankings are compiled by head coaches at 59 programs. OU coach Bob Stoops is one of the coaches who has a vote in this year's poll.
