Landry Jones acknowledges Missouri's strengths
Quarterback Landry Jones was humbled after practice Tuesday when talking about last year’s experience in Columbia, Mo., while giving credit to the Tigers for their ability to outplay the Sooners last season.
“We had too many mistakes, and credit Missouri for forcing us into those mistakes," Jones said. "They played sound on defense, and they flat out just beat us every part of the game. They out-rushed us, out-threw us, we had more turnovers than they did, they had a kickoff return for a touchdown — every part of the game they out played us.”
Looking at this year’s team, Jones respects the kind of talent Missouri will be bringing to face the Sooners on Saturday in Norman.
“They’re athletic all around, and they have a good front four that can get around," he said. "The linebackers and secondary play really well together as a unit, pretty sound in what they do and not many mental errors. We’re going to have to play our best ball to compete with them.”
