The OU Sooner Ally program is hosting its first brown bag of the semester from noon to 1 p.m. Sept 7 in the Oklahoma Memorial Union President’s Room.
The Ally program is a group of students, faculty and staff members trained to provide resources and support to OU’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
The lunch will be followed by a discussion on queer theory led by communications professor Clemencia Rodriguez.
“Allies will be there, but other students should come too to learn and discuss with everyone,” said Jennifer Cox, Women’s Outreach Center staff member.
The program will also hold a welcome-back picnic from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept 13 on the Walker-Adams Mall.
