Business students have summer opportunities to study in Europe
by   |  June 21, 2011  |

Some OU business students have been given the opportunity to observe global business operations in foreign countries by participating in OU’s study-abroad program this summer.

The Price College of Business created opportunities for OU students to experience different cultural and economic environments by establishing study-abroad programs in the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and France. Each session lasts about one month, with the earliest having started in May and the last ending in August, according to the college website.

During the program, students will have plenty of opportunities to travel and explore the country they are in, because courses are only held Monday through Thursday, said Travis Shepard, a program participant in Alacala de Henares, Spain.

“The four-day-class week really let me travel around Spain,” Shepherd said.

Before signing up, Shepherd said he was a little worried about the language difference.

“I have taken several years of Spanish, so I know enough to get around,” Shepherd said. “But I was concerned I would be left behind in class, until I saw their website.”

All Price College’s study-abroad classes are taught entirely in English, according to the college website.

“After I learned that language would not be an issue, I was way down,” Shepherd said. “Today is actually my last day of classes and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone interested.”
