On-campus students should look for food at Couch Restaurants
by   |  January 31, 2011  |

OU Housing and Food Services will still open some campus restaurants to accommodate students that live on campus, despite class cancellations.

Opening Couch Restaurants will be the priority of the staff Tuesday, spokeswoman Lauren Royston said. It will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. based on staff availability.

Next, officials looks to open Cate Ala Carte from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., depending on staff size, Royston said. Xcetera, Couch Express and Crossroads are next in order of priority.

"Housing and Food Services continues to operate as many campus restaurants and housing services as we safely can on university inclement weather days," Royston said in a previous e-mail statement. "Operations are staffed by both on-campus residents and full-time or part-time employees that can safely arrive to their campus jobs."

Usually the department works to have at least one Oklahoma Memorial Union restaurant and one residential hall restaurant open for students, Royston said.

"We want to serve and support our residents to the best of our ability," she said. "Although classes may be canceled, we are committed to offering a variety of restaurants and activities to keep residents engaged and connected."
