Noted author Graham E. Fuller to address Middle East issues
by   |  January 21, 2011  |

The Center for Middle East Studies is bringing a noted author with insight on the situation in the Middle East to speak on campus.

Author Graham E. Fuller will speak at 5 p.m. Monday in the Oklahoma Memorial Union’s Meacham Auditorium.

Fuller is the former vice-chairman of the National Intelligence Council and is coming to OU to discuss his book, “A World Without Islam.”

It’s important to bring Fuller to OU because of his international knowledge, said Nur Uysal, event organizer.

“It is a chance of a lifetime to get to see him and ask him questions,” Uysal said.

Fuller’s talk will provide students insight into the war on terror, said Joshua Landis, The Center for Middle East Studies director.

“The U.S. has spent well over a trillion dollars on the war on terror, and Graham Fuller will tell why much of that money has been misspent,” Landis said.

Fuller is a political activist trying to promote his new book where he claimed the stuggle for Islamic supremacy simply doesn't exist and that religion plays no role, whatsoever:

From a Muslim Public Affairs Council panel discussion about his new book last October:

"The major thesis of this book is that if there had been no Islam and no Prophet Muhammad, that essentially the relationship between the West and the Middle East would not be significantly different," Fuller said. "This tension has been around even before Christianity. --- "This is ultimately about human nature and not religion at all --"

Joining Fuller at this panel was Dr. Masher Hathout who has called the Israeli's butchers who commits acts of terrorism, which is on video. Houthout has also claimed the U.S. in under Israeli occupation.

It seems to me, Fuller has a political agenda strongly supported by Muslim activists here who want to change the perception of what is really going on which is not supported by facts.
