Visiting artist Sara Schneckloth is the first exhibiting artist of the semester for the OU School of Art and Art History.
Her exhibition “Anxiety Machines” opened Aug. 22 and will continue until Sept. 2 in the Lightwell Gallery, located in the Fred Jones Jr. Art Centert. A free public lecture featuring Schneckloth is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sept. 1 in the Fred Jones Jr. Art Center. A closing reception for the exhibition will follow from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Lightwell Gallery.
Schneckloth’s work in the exhibition blends different media within contemporary drawing, including sculptural and experimental elements.
“Students will be able to get a sense of the flexibility and great potential that drawing has to offer...through Schneckloth’s drawings,” stated Cedar Marie, assistant professor in Foundations at the School of Art and Art History in a press release.
The Lightwell Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located on the second floor of the Fred Jones Jr. Art Center. For more information on the exhibit and the OU School of Art and Art History, please visit art.ou.edu.
