Senior guard Cade Davis suffered a facial fracture during a team workout last Friday, coach Jeff Capel said Wednesday.

The injury will not require surgery, and Davis is expected to make a full recovery within four to six weeks, said Capel. Davis has already been cleared for non-contact shooting and conditioning drills.

Davis may be required to wear a protective mask once he is fully cleared to return to action, according to Capel.

The Elk City native is a captain for the 2010-11 Sooners squad, Davis is the returning leader in several statistical categories, including points, rebounds, assists, steals and 3-pointers. He averaged 9.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game last season.
