Stevens named starting kicker against Cincinnati
Junior kicker Jimmy Stevens will be the starting kicker Saturday at Cincinnati, with sophomore kicker Patrick O’Hara still out with a muscle strain coach Bob Stoops said Monday. O’Hara sat out the Air Force game as well, and Stevens went 2-for-2 in his absence, including a 41-yard field goal.
Clay will sit out 2nd-straight game
Freshman running back Brennan Clay will be sidelined against the Bearcats. It will be his second consecutive game sitting out, as he was also inactive against Air Force. Clay was carted off the field during the game against Florida State, when he suffered a concussion.
Reynolds misses Air Force game due to 'academic issues'
Sophomore wide receiver Jaz Reynolds was suspended during the Air Force game due to academic issues, Stoops said Monday. Reynolds practiced Monday and may be allowed to play against Cincinnati. Stoops said it depends if Reynolds is able to “straighten some things up.”
