The University of Oklahoma football team went into the halftime locker room with a 21-10 lead over the Utah State Aggies in the season opener at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

The Sooners came out firing, with junior running back Demarco Murray breaking out for a 39-yard run on the first play of the game. Murray rushed for 89 yards on 16 carries in the first half.

The OU offense slowed down a bit as the game progressed, and redshirt sophomore quarterback Landry Jones threw an interception. Jones finished the half 9-19 with two touchdown passes and one interception.

Junior wide receiver Ryan Broyles was the bright spot for OU on offense, gaining 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns on six receptions.

Utah State scored it’s first points off a drive aided by two 15-yard defensive penalties by redshirt freshman Tom Wort, and finished the drive with a 40-yard field goal.

Late in the half, Utah state strung together a couple of long receptions and finished off a drive with a two-yard touchdown run by Michael Smith.
