Norman mayor wins Woman of the Year award
by   |  October 11, 2010  |

Norman Mayor and OU political science professor Cindy Simon Rosenthal was presented with the Journal Record’s 2010 Woman of the Year award Friday night at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.

“It is an incredible honor. A remarkable group of women were nominated this year, and it was an honor to be considered among them,” she said.

Rosenthal was one of 50 women honored in the state of Oklahoma for their service to their communities and in business leadership and entrepreneurship. These women are recognized as growing and influential parts of the community.

Rosenthal, Carl Albert Congressional Research and Studies Center director, was chosen as Woman of the Year due to her work as an educator on the OU campus engaging students in leadership and her career as mayor of Norman.

The Journal Record’s Woman of the Year award is an annual event, awarding Oklahoma women for 30 years.
