The OU outdoor track and field team claimed numerous events titles this weekend at various meets across the nation.
Sophomore Jessica Engel and junior Lauren Watson claimed first and second place respectively at the Razorback Spring Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Likewise, at the Arizona State competition, four women sprinter won top three finishes.
During her first collegiate outdoor meet, freshman Marlena Wesh placed second in the 400-meter dash and senior Latoya Heath took second in the 100-meter hurdles.
Sophomore Sherine Wells won third in the 100-meter dash and junior Scottesha Miller took third in the 200-meter dash.
Junior K.P. Singh not only won the hammer throw event, but broke the OU program record at the Bobby Lane Invitational in Arlington, Texas. His throw topped second place by fifteen feet.
Also in Arlington, junior Ronnie Ash and junior Eric Bailey won their events in the 60-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles respectively.
At the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, California, freshman Kevin Williams and junior Jeremy Sudbury broke school records. Sudbury broke a seventeen year old record in the 10,000 meter run and Williams conquered a thirty four year old record in the 5,000 meter run.
The team will travel to the Texas Relays on Thursday.
