The Sooners look to avenge their 21-point loss in Bedlam pt. III – The Big XII Tournament Edition. No. 10 OU (13-17, 4-12) will face No. 7 Oklahoma State (21-9, 9-7) in Phillip’s 66 Big XII Men’s Championship Tournament at the Kansas City Spirit Center.
OU will be looking to turn their 8-game losing streak around, seeing that a Big 12 Tournament Championship is their last chance at receiving a bid for the NCAA Tournament.
OU will be led into this Bedlam game by Third Team All-Big 12, and All-Rookie freshman guard Tommy Mason-Griffin. Mason-Griffin looks to continue the success he had against the Cowboys putting up 30 in their last outing, and averaging 22 points, 4 assists, and shooting 52.9 percent from the three-point line.
The Sooners will also look for a big game from their freshman forward Tiny Gallon. Gallon, who was suspended in the loss to the Cowboys, did however manage to go for 13 points and 18 rebounds in the first match-up this year. Gallon will look to repeat this performance, as he has been playing a lot better since his suspension.
The Sooners, who lead the Bedlam Series (126-91), will have their hands full with the Cowboys and Big 12 Player of the Year James Anderson, who is averaging 24.5 points against the Sooners this year.
The Sooners, who have only won one game outside of Lloyd Noble Center, would like to continue their Kansas City success sporting a 14-6 record in the event and a 3-1 record at the Kansas City Spirit Center.
This season has seen some bright spots and the Sooners will look to finish out their season on a high note to gain momentum to go in to next season with.
Tip off will take place at 6 p.m. and will be aired on Sooner Radio Network (KOKC 1520 AM) and the Big 12 Network (KOCB Ch. 34)
Sooners Win If...
• Hold James Anderson below 10 points
• Hold the Cowboys below 65
