The Sooner Indoor Track Team landed three more NCAA provisional qualifying marks during their last chance meets. Last weekend was the athletes’ final opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
The 4x4 relay team won their event title at the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame; clocking their third fastest time this year.
The team consists of junior Remuro Henry, senior Jarell Warren, sophomore Mookie Salaam, and junior Eric Bailey.
Henry is a Florida native who was All Big 12 Indoor Conference in both the 4x400 and distance medley relays.
Warren is a transfer from Butler Community College and originally from New York. He is a record holder in the distance medley relay.
Salaam is an Oklahoma native, the OU program record holder in the 200 meter dash and the Big 12 Conference 60 meter dash champion.
Bailey is from Oregon and All-Big 12 Conference in the 4x400 meter relay and the 400 meter dash.
Also last weekend, junior Latoya Greaves clocked two NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the 60 meter hurdles. Junior Scott Cooper clocked an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the 800 meter run finishing sixteenth. Senior Amy Backel finished second in shot put.
Select athletes will attend the NCAA Championships next weekend in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
