Bedlam is back in Lloyd Noble Center.

OU women’s basketball hosts intrastate rival Oklahoma State Sunday in what will be this year’s final installment of Bedlam basketball.

Not only is it Bedlam, but it is also the last regular season game for seniors Amanda Thompson, Nyeshia Stevenson, and Abi Olajuwon.

For Thompson, Bedlam has always been a memorable experience.

“Some of my best games are in Bedlam,” Thompson said.

These are the kind of games that make you play that much harder.

“We got beat by them really bad on time, and I was like ‘that can’t happen again’,” Thompson said.

This time around, the Sooners are coming off their worst numeric loss of the season falling by 23 points to Texas A&M.

“We weren’t really moving and nothing was clicking on defense,” Thompson said.

That means a couple things need to be fixed.

“I think we just got to play more aggressive,” Thompson said.

Its also about coming together as a team for this final regular season game.

“We got to just bond and hold tight and just fight,” Thompson said.

Oklahoma State presents it’s own problems, namely senior guard Andrea Riley, but the Sooners are ready.

“We just have to expose their weakness,” Thompson said.

The senior forward also noted that one advantage the Sooners have is she feels they match up well with the Cowboys zone defense.

The other OU advantage is having the home crowd.

“I just feel like you have the upper hand,” Thompson said. “It’s just like an extra boost of energy.”

That energy will be put to the test when the Sooners and Cowgirls meet at center court Sunday at 4 p.m.
