Coming off an emotional win on senior night, the No. 1 OU men’s gymnastics team looks to continue its undefeated run when the Sooners take on No. 2 Stanford and No. 9 Nebraska.
In the Sooners’ previous outing, OU racked up its second home victory of the season with a win over No. 7 Minnesota by posting a season-best score of 359.450.
The total is only bested by Stanford’s 361.400, which was set on the same night OU posted its score.
“I’d be happy if we went up to Nebraska and were able to do something like we did [Saturday] because that’s a huge score,” head coach Mark Williams said. “Stanford’s one of the best teams out there and it’d be a great test for us to go head-to-head with them.”
Both Stanford and Nebraska head into Sunday’s meet with upset wins under their belt after the Cardinal knocked off then-No. 1 Michigan on Saturday, and the Cornhuskers toppled three top-ranked teams in No. 6 Ohio State, No. 11 University of Illinois-Chicago and No. 13 Air Force.
OU will look to post its third victory of the season over the Cornhuskers and first over the Cardinal since finishing behind Stanford in the NCAA Championships last year.
Action is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m. Sunday inside the Devaney Center in Lincoln, Neb.
