It’s summer, which means all of our favorite TV shows have ended. Here are a few options to keep you from having withdrawals and get your summer TV fix.
ABC
The Gates: A police officer moves his family to a suburban neighborhood of vampires. It premieres Sunday, June 20 at 9 p.m.
Scoundrels: This show focuses on a corrupted family of crooks trying to change their ways. Virginia Madsen (Monk) and Leven Rambin, known for her role on this season of Grey’s Anatomy star. It premieres Sunday, June 20 at 8 p.m.
Rookie Blue: Five rookie cops start their new jobs. The show’s central character, Andy McNally, is played by Missy Peregrym. You may recognize Peregrym from the movie “Stick It,” or her roles on various TV shows like “Reaper,” “Life As We Know It” and “Heroes.” I’m personally excited to see Gregory Smith on the show. Smith hasn’t had much luck since his role as Ephram Brown on the underrated WB show “Everwood” in the early to mid 2000s. Rookie Blue begins Thursday, June 24 at 8 p.m.
Bravo
Bethenny Getting Married: This is a spin-off of “The Real Housewives of New York,” premering Thursday, June 10th at 9 p.m. The show will follow housewife Bethenny Frankel through her busy life of wedding-planning, pregnancy and career as an author.
Top Chefreturns for its seventh season on Wednesday, June 16.
Double Exposure: A new series that follows two celebrity photographer exes and a stylist who work in the fast-paced environment of celebrity photography and fashion.
FOX
Glee’s season finale is on June 8. If you don’t already watch the show, you haven’t lost your chance. After the finale, FOX will air encore episodes of the show throughout the summer.
The Good Guys: This new comedy stars Bradley Whitford (“The West Wing”) and Colin Hanks (“Orange County”). The pilot is available to watch online and the series premieres June 7. Whitford’s character is a washed up alcoholic cop and Hanks’ new partner.
NBC
Losing it with Jilian: A spin-off from “The Biggest Loser.” In this show, trainer Jilian Michaels travels to various cities, making house calls to families that need to make changes in their diet and exercise practices.
CW
The network is reviving a 2007 series called “Moonlight,” beginning June 3. The show originally aired and lasted one season on CBS. Alex O’Laughlin (The Back-Up Plan) stars as Mick St. John, a vampire who works as a private detective and develops a budding romance with Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), a reporter. I stumbled across this show over spring break during a late-night TV marathon. I only saw a couple of episodes, so I’m really looking forward to its summer revival. From what I saw, the show is like CSI mixed with Twilight.
The network will also air reruns of some of its fall series including 90210, The Vampire Diaries and Life Unexpected.
HBO
The award-winning series True Blood returns Sunday, June 13 for its third season.
MTV
Jersey Shore returns for its second season on July 29th.
AMC
Mad Men returns for its fourth season on July 25. It airs Sundays at 9 p.m.
