Norman Police arrested a man who was reportedly attempting to rob a Norman restaurant Wednesday night, according to a press release.

Eric Arthur Zimmerman, 29, was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on complaints of robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with a deadly weapon after police responded to a call about an armed robbery at about 10 p.m. at the Asian Buffet, 149 12th Ave. SE.

Police said the suspect allegedly entered the building with a handgun and attempted to take money from the register.

Restaurant employees confronted and subdued the suspect. During the altercation, Zimmerman fired a shot, but no one was injured, the release stated.
