The No. 2 OU women’s gymnastics team will cap off its conference schedule at No. 17 Missouri tonight at 6:30 p.m.
After posting their highest score since 2004 in their “Beauty and the Beast” victory over No. 16 Iowa State, the Sooners were deduced from the nations top spot in the latest Troester poll.
The Sooners post an average score of 196.563 and are nipping at the heels of top-ranked Alabama, who averages a score of 196.575.
Sophomore All-American Megan Ferguson and Senior Hollie Vise will attempt to continue their impressive winning streaks on the road tonight against the Tigers.
Ferguson is the highest ranked Big 12 gymnast on any apparatus and Vise has been near-perfect on bars this season, ranking her fourth in the country with a 9.896 average. Red shirt freshmen Natasha Kelley and Senior Jackie Flanery are also ranked within the top 15 nationally.
The Missouri Tigers, currently 7-1, are lead by Sarah Shire, who has won the 15th all-around title of her career last weekend. Shire, currently ranking in at 18th nationally, will hope to lead her Tigers to a victory and end her season 8-1. The Tigers posts an average score of 195.025.
