Freshman move-in expected to delay CART routes
by   |  August 18, 2010  |

Cleveland Area Rapid Transit is expecting bus route delays Thursday across Norman during OU’s freshman move-in day with nearly 2,000 students moving in, according to a CART press release.

Wayne Wickham, CART operations manager, said traffic congestion will build up due to the construction on Lindsey and to expect delays all day from a half an hour or longer.

CART spokesperson Vicky Holland said there will be difficulty within the city, but the campus loop should not be as affected. She said CART is familiar with dealing with traffic every year on move-in day.

“The buses are going to know where to avoid the traffic,“ Holland said.

Freshman move-in is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Thursday.
