Football season opener to be pay-per-view
by   |  August 2, 2010  |

OU's season-opening football game against Utah State will kick off at 6 p.m. Sept. 4. The game will be televised on a pay-per-view basis by Fox Sports Net, the Athletics Department announced Monday.

Details on the purchasing procedure and the broadcast team will be released at a later date.

Utah State was tabbed for a fourth-place finish in the Western Athletic Conference’s 2010 preseason poll. Boise State, Nevada and Fresno State were picked ahead of USU.

OU has 799 victories and is trying to become the eighth program in college football history to win 800 games. The school also has 68 consecutive sellouts, one shy of tying the school record.

The single-game ticket sale is in progress now. A limited number remain for the opener at $52 per ticket. Those tickets are available at SoonerSports.com or by calling 405-325-2424.
