To foster discussion and discourse, The Oklahoma Daily will host a public discussion on race relations at OU Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Heritage Room of the Oklahoma Memorial Union.
Jamie Hughes, The Daily’s editor-in-chief, and Destiny Poole, former president of the Black Student Association, will lead the public forum.
The purpose of the discussion is to provide the opportunity for public feedback about race issues represented in The Daily and on campus in general.
In turn, we will hopefully be able to answer questions and increase the level of transparency regarding how The Daily operates.
This will hopefully be the first of several public discussions The Daily will host. The decision to focus on race relations Friday was made in light of a recent column regarding Bobo’s Chicken, a restaurant in Oklahoma City.
Hughes and Poole will answer questions over any issue related to race relations at OU, including inquiries about the Bobo’s Chicken column.
If you have a topic suggestion for a future forum, please e-mail dailyopinion@ou.edu.

Why is only a Black representative invited to the discussion? Are Blacks the only ethnic group for which race relation issues exist or are they just the most vocal?

@mustafa
Wait... let me read that again. Did you just write that, if you are Black, then you revere America-haters, immoral and criminal behavior and poor work ethics?

I don't see where the article mentions that "only a Black representative is invited to the discussion". The editor-in-chief and a leader in that particular community are leading the discussion. I doubt there's a bar against anyone else attending or getting involved. Your question, "Are Blacks the only ethnic group for which race relation issues exist or are they just the most vocal?" is facetious. Relations issues exist for practically every numerically-identifiable minority (not just Blacks). Blacks probably are the most vocal, but being vocal can lead to recognition and heightened awareness of the issue...which hopefully will lead to evaluation, review, and change for all.

White people have come a long way in cleaning up their act despite what Black race-hustlers say. One place they haven't changed since the 1950's is that they still don't like America-haters, immoral and criminal behavior and poor work ethics.
Since these things are highly revered in the black sub-culture, race relations are apparently at an impasse.
The biggest oppressor of Black America is its own sub-culture.
(Does that sound familiar because I've posted it here many times?)
Why isn't a representative from Project 21 invited?

No dum-dum, plese learn to read for meaning, it says quite clearly the BLACK SUB-CULTURE
"Since these things are highly revered in the black sub-culture, race relations are apparently at an impasse."
The Black Sub culture: that thing that says... don't try to be intelligent, don't try to suceed within the system, admire criminal behavior, be a drug user, be a loser, hate your fellow black if he tries to be a good citizen.
White people who cringe when they see Blacks moving in down the street are not predjustice, just leery. It not that they don't like Black perple per se, it is that they don't like "Black." e.g. Clarence Thomas is a Black man but according to the Black sub-culture, he is is not "Black" he dosen't think like a "Black" and is a trator to his race because, among other things, he has a white wife.
White people enjoy immensely Black people who revere decency and hard work. But they don't like being around hateful criminal types, regardless of color. Criminal behavior has been in vogue within Black America or over 40 years. Read Malcolm Xs Auto Biography, he was a hugh critic of the Black sub-culture.,
The time is over-due for Black America to clean up it's act. In the LA riots of '93, they turned their hatred on Asians because the Asians were highlighting the fact that Black America was willingly choosing failure. Asians were coming to the country with no English skills or education and in less than ten years working themselves into the middle class, passing easily Blacks on the mobility ladder. Black slaves of their own sub-culture resented this.
Now we have a large Latino population growing in the country. Latinos, in general, are hard working, highly moral people who they are also by-passing the majority of Blacks.
If Blacks refuse clean up their act, then they deserve to fail and remain on the bottom of society. It is their own fault.
I hope I've made myself clear to you.

"If Blacks refuse clean up their act, then they deserve to fail and remain on the bottom of society. It is their own fault."
Let me correct that:
"If mustafa refuses to clean up his act, then he deserves to fail and remain at the bottom of society. It is his own fault."
Better.
On another note, I find your racism and bigotry disgusting.
