Body of 50-year-old male found near Norman dog park
by The Associated Press  |  March 3, 2009  |

Norman police say they've found the body of a man near the city dog park.

Officer Jennifer Newell says the body was found after police found his vehicle abandoned in the area.

There was no immediate word on the man's name or his cause of death. Police say he was a 50-year-old white male.

Newell says officers searched the area after finding the vehicle and speaking with the man's family who said he had not been seen since mid-January.

Newell says the man was also a suspect in the theft of a gun.
