Norman police are searching for an unidentified man who fled after walking out on a tab at a local diner.
Police responded to Waffle House, 1161 Rambling Oaks Drive, on a complaint of a subject who had left without paying, said Norman Police Capt. Leonard Judy.
During the course of the investigation, police learned the subject attempted to pass a stolen check that had been taken during a burglary in Oklahoma City Thursday.
Employees at the restaurant provided officers with a physical description of the man and his pickup. In the course of the investigation, officers discovered the truck was stolen in Ardmore.
Officers spotted the pickup in the 1800 block of W. Robinson Street about 3:05 a.m. The man ignored attempts by the officers to stop him, and a pursuit ensued.
Judy said the subject lost control of his vehicle at Robinson and 60th Avenue N.W. and fled the scene on foot.
A Norman K9 unit and the Oklahoma City Police Department Helicopter assisted with the search for the man, but were unable to locate him.
Police are still investigating the incident.
