David Leonhardt , New York Times economics and business columnist, will be speaking at the President’s Associates dinner in The Oklahoma Memorial Union’s Ballroom on Monday March 2.
The reception will take place at 6 p.m. followed by the dinner and lecture at 6:30.
The lecture topic will be “Where our Economy is Headed” for students to participate in.
“David Leonhardt is widely recognized as one of the top journalists in the country writing about the economic challenges facing our country,” said OU President David L. Boren. “He is known for the clear way in which he presents complex economic issues and the competing views of leading economists.”
Leonhardt has been writing for The New York Times since 1999. He is also a staff writer for The New York Times Magazine and contributes to the Economix blog. In 2004, he founded an analytical sports column, Keeping Score.
Leonhardt previously worked for Business Week magazine, in Chicago and New York, and for the metro desk of The Washington Post.
Leonhardt earned his bachelor of science degree in applied mathematics in 1995 from Yale University.
