Senior center Abi Olajuwon stood at least three inches taller than any of the Cal State Fullerton Titans on the court, and used that edge to its full effect Wednesday, scoring 25 points to lead the OU women's basketball team to a 95-76 win at Lloyd Noble Center.

"I was just really focused on finding somebody and putting a body on them," she said. "We have guards who can make amazing passes and they gave me some really good angles to put it in the basket."

The Sooners led for nearly the entire game, taking a 6-5 lead less than three minutes into the game and never trailing again. However, OU didn't secure the win until it went on a 10-0 run to take a 90-70 lead with 3:50 remaining in the game. Senior guard Nyeshia Stevenson capped the run with a 3-pointer.

The Titans pulled within six points twice during the second half, the second time on a layup from Megan Richardson with 9:26 remaining in the game.

OU stayed in control by balancing Olajuwon's inside scoring with perimeter points from Stevenson and junior guard Danielle Robinson. Stevenson finished with 18 points, which included a 4-for-9 effort from 3-point range. Robinson chipped in 15 points, but also turned the ball over seven times, against five assists.

"I think a lot of turnovers came because I was at a quicker pace than I needed to be," Robinson said. "I was passing up some open shots, especially in the second half that led to some turnovers."

Carlee Roethlisberger delivered six assists and stole the ball five times for the Sooners, both career bests. She finished the game with 15 points.

OU hit about 61 percent of the shots it took, compared to the Titans' who shot under 42 percent.

"It's all the movement that creates the easy, high-percentage shot," Coale said. "That's the hard stuff, and that's what we did very well tonight."

Lyndsey Grove led the Titans with 19 points, while Richardson added 18.

"I'm excited about how my team competed against No. 14 in the nation," Cal State Fullerton head coach Marcia Foster said. "Oklahoma is a good team. I couldn't be more pleased with my team's effort tonight."

Wednesday's win was OU's first game since Dec. 20, when the Sooners knocked off Creighton, and it's first game in Norman since a Dec. 5 win against Arkansas.

Coale said the team was off following the Creighton game until Dec. 27.

"They were really good and responded," Coale said of the Sooners' post-break practices. "We got back into game shape pretty well I thought, and put some new stuff in."

The Sooners are on the road for a 6 p.m. game Sunday at No. 4 Tennessee. That matchup will be televised on ESPN2.

"These games are the reason you want to play at the Division I level," Olajuwon said. "It is great to have an opportunity to play in such a hard conference. It does prepare you and gets you going in the right direction by playing in the Big 12."

Notes: Kodi Morrison, a 5-foot-9 guard from Seminole, joined the Sooners, according to a release from the OU Athletics Department. Morrison played for Varnum High School and was a member of that school's 2009 Class B state championship team. Morrison will walk on to the team and will be eligible to play Jan. 9, when the Sooners host Texas Tech.

Ashley and Courtney Paris attended Wednesday's game. They walked onto the floor at the Lloyd Noble Center and made their way to their seats with about nine minutes to play in the first half to a standing ovation.
